Our Commitment to You and Your New Puppy

At Basset Finder, we believe that our relationship with you doesn’t end when you bring your new puppy home. As responsible breeders, experienced puppy counselors, and passionate puppy lovers, we strive to ensure every puppy we place is healthy, happy, and ready for a lifetime of love. While we work hard to ensure that nothing goes wrong with our puppies, we understand that certain factors—such as genetics, exercise, diet, and overall care—are beyond our control.

That being said, if anything does go wrong, we are here to help, even in situations where our guarantee may not cover the issue. While we cannot guarantee that your puppy will never face health challenges, we do guarantee that we will do everything in our power to ensure your new family member is a healthy one.

Our Health Guarantee

While we don’t believe any pet is truly replaceable, we understand that the loss of a beloved pet can be heartbreaking. To offer peace of mind, we provide the following health guarantee:

• In the Unlikely Event of Death Within Two Years: If your puppy passes away due to genetic issues or if a hereditary or congenital disorder is diagnosed within the first two years of life that significantly impacts your puppy’s health, we will replace the pet with one of equivalent value at no additional cost to you. The cause of death must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian.

• Death Due to Genetics After Two Years: If your puppy passes away due to a genetic condition after two years but before reaching ten years of age, we will issue a credit equal to 70% of the original cost toward the purchase of another puppy of equivalent value. Again, the cause of death must be certified by a licensed veterinarian.

What We Need From You

We want nothing more than for your new puppy to thrive in their forever home. Here are a few steps we ask you to take to help ensure your puppy remains healthy and happy:

• Veterinary Examination: Within two business days of receiving your puppy, please take them to a licensed veterinarian for an initial examination. Make sure to send us a copy of the examination report. Your puppy will arrive with up-to-date, age-appropriate vaccinations, so please do not vaccinate within the first ten days of receiving your puppy.

• Ongoing Care: We’ve done our part by de-worming and vaccinating your puppy before shipping. We ask that you continue regular de-worming and keep up with veterinary check-ups, at least until the puppy reaches 16 weeks of age or as advised by your veterinarian.

Exceptions to Our Guarantee

While we are committed to providing healthy, happy puppies, there are a few important exceptions to our health guarantee:

• We cannot guarantee the puppy’s temperament, disposition, size, weight, color, markings, or breeding ability.

• No replacements will be made if the puppy’s breed is known to be prone to hip dysplasia or if the puppy becomes overweight.

• Failure to provide your puppy with timely vaccinations or regular veterinary care will void this guarantee.

• This guarantee does not cover the cost of spaying or neutering or issues like undescended testes.

Pre-Shipment Health Check

Before any puppy is shipped to you, we ensure that they undergo a thorough health check by a licensed veterinarian. This includes an examination for conditions related to:

• Cardiovascular health

• Skin, coat, and eyes

• Mouth, teeth, and gums

• Musculoskeletal system

• Respiratory and urogenital health

• Gastrointestinal health

A complete Veterinary Health Report is provided with each puppy, certifying their health status on the date of shipping. If any issues or concerns are noted, the puppy will not be shipped until the matter is addressed.

We also ask that you have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within ten days of receiving them to ensure continued health.
